The scientific revolution was filled with scientist who wanted to know how exactly this world was. They wanted to know if god was real or not. In the Renaissance of course they based everything on Religion not much science. As the scientist in the revolution still believed in god they just had some proven theories.
The Scientific Revolution started because current scientific theories would not explain what the Egyptian astronomer Ptolemy found. This lead to the advancement of a Scientific Revolution to study of his ideas.

well they were both revolutions. renaissance was a revolution in art and the scientific revolution was a revolution in well, science. i think when people started to figure out that there were neewer ways to do things and create things then that started the scientific revolution.
