It depends on the plant. Some plants have the ability to regrow from a picked stem, while others do not. For example, many herbs like basil and mint can regrow from a cut stem, but woody plants like trees or shrubs generally do not regrow from a picked stem.

Yes. When you get your bedding plants, get some petunias and let them go to seed. The seeds are black and very small and are encased in a brittle shell. When you have chosen your seeds, you can pick from the colours that you like the best. Plant them in the Spring, in rich soil and watch them grow.
Banana plants take about 18 months to develop from plant to ripe banana. The plant starts out as rhizome, like potato plants, and begins to quickly produce leaves. The flowers, candelas, begin to develop and eventually turn into the fruit. The last stage before being ripe enough to pick is the lengthening and thickening of the fruit.
Vascular plants, which include ferns, flowering plants and seed plants, have adapted to be able to transfer nutrients farther than nonvasculars, which allows them to grow taller and larger. Vascular plants also have a better root system to absorb minerals to support their larger size. if you don't think that a lot of flowering plants would be considered large, compare it with moss. moss grows very low to the ground because it cann't support a larger body.
People make tobacco. People grow the tobacco plant, pick the leaves, the leaves are dried and cut and this is what we call tobacco.
The seeds you plant in your garden will grow into different colours, at random. You cannot pick the colour for the plants.
you pick plants at the right time
Since you have to pick it root and all for it to survive as a decoration, the plant will not grow back.
Yes you can grow a garden in Alaska. You have to pick the right plants for the shorter growing season. Some plants need to be started inside before you plant them in the garden. Some extend the season with green houses, tunnels, or cold frames. Because of the long summer daylight, some plants get really huge such as strawberries.

You don't. You plant them and grow them and finally pick them.
In a garden it is best to harvest/pick them (1. time) when they are blooming (because you dont want them to set seeds, because those seeds will become plants with less taste, and mint spread enormusly fast) It is important when you pick them that you doesnt take them from the root but make sure there is still fresh leaves in the remaining piece of plant. It will then grow from those leaves very fast so you can pick them again later in the year. But mint is so easy to grow that it doesnt matter if you do something wrong - I just pick when i need them and just remove the flowers when they are just about to make seeds

You can grow your plant from a cutting or seeds. Certain kinds including herbal tea do well in most climates in the U.S. Plant in acidic soil and water with soft water only. Pick the new leaves or smaller buds for your tea.
All plants are living. They grow, and they die.
