Hitler never really changed his plans after Stalingrad. There is evidence that his personal doctor, Theodor Morell, had been injecting Hitler with different kinds of drugs, one of which was a form of Methamphetamine. There are theories that suggest this drug influenced Hitler to refuse a retreat from Stalingrad once his soldiers were becoming surrounded. Lack of supplies to his out-stretched war fronts and the brutality of the Russian winter halted the German war machine's push into Russland. Hitler's plans did not change, and that is precisely why he lost the Eastern Front. He did not adapt.
