Pilgrimage takes at various times. Different pilgrimages are there.
A perspective is a point of view from a certain group. and there were different perspectives of the crusades. this is what different groups thought for example muslims may have had a different perspective to the christians.
Yes
Well the Christians were the ones who launched the crusades and they did this because they couldn't safely travel to Jerusalem (which they called the Holy Land). They couldn't make safe pilgrimages to Jerusalem any more because the Seljuk Turks (who were Muslims) were conquering a lot of land aroundJerusalem. The Christians launched the first crusade and they captured Jerusalem. But they owed some of their victory to the Muslims who were already breaking off into different states. Four Reasons people went on crusades: • Christians couldn't make safe pilgrimages to Jerusalem (The Holy Land) • Seljuk Turks were taking over too much land around Jerusalem • Muslims were making it hard for Christians to get to Jerusalem • Christians wanted to be able to go to the Holy Land because it was a great religious site for them (it was also a great religious site for Muslims and Jews, for all different reasons)
they fought dat they was da bad peeps init! Since the time of Constantine, Christians had gone on pilgrimages to the Holy Land. Even though Moslems had ruled Jerusalem since 638, Christians were still allowed to visit the city. By the 11th century, however, the situation had changed. Just as the number and frequency of pilgrimages to Jerusalem was at new peaks, the Seljuk Turks took over control of Jerusalem and prevented pilgrimages.
The life of the people on the pilgrimages can be defined as religious. People went on the pilgrimages in order to pray.
each crusade was lead by a different person
People still go on pilgrimages, such as Hindus and the Muslims.
Yes you can compare anything. Hajj and Lourdes are actually very similar. In both pilgrimages people are left changed and live a better new life. Also water and walking are huge themes in both these pilgrimages. Although there are some difference to as the founders of these pilgrimages were very different people Bernadette and Mohammed.
the main reason they went on pilgrimages is to build their relationship with god
The crusades is not a person it is a holy war between two or more religious. But they were fighting for Jerusalem for different reasons. It was between Muslims and christians.
Joan did not lead pilgrimages, she led military campaigns against the British.
