At the time of the plague there were very few schools and those schools that did exist mainly taught Mathematics and The Classics (Greek and Latin). The plague effected everyone in much the same way, regardless of whether they were rich or poor, teachers or pupils.
During the black plague in Europe during the 1300s an estimated 75 to 200 million people died. During peaks of the outbreak English theaters had to shut down since the close concentration of people would have worked to further spread the virus.
Since so many people died of the plague, the people that ran the theater were desperate for actors/actresses. They even hired the ill, which made the audiance sick too.
A 3rd of Europes population was affected.

The Black Plague got to England after the Hundred Years War, which was btwn France and England. At this time, France was badly affected with the Plague so they gave infected blankets to the English and naturally, they got it too.
Sydney was the area hardest hit by the bubonic plague, beginning in January 1900, with more outbreaks continuing to occur through to 1925, as a result of visiting ships.
