World War 1 started in 1914 - Started because Germany/Austria/Hungary went against the Serbians who were responsible for the murder of the Archduke of Hungary/Austria. There were also age old issues with the French, Russians, Belgians, Brits and other nations that were also part of the motive to start the war.

How did hitler start World War I?

I dont think he did, but it would be something to do with the german nations- World war 1 was started because of Russia and America, but if the German nations got involved, then Hitler would be mainly affected because his mother was from America and his father although German, had American family.

Who is to blame for the beginning of ww1 other than Germany?

A Serbian terrorist group called The Black Handassassinated the Austrio- Hungarian archduke on one of his tours to an area of the empire. The Serbians believed this territory was rightfully theirs and were willing to start a war over it. As soon as the archduke and his pregnant wife were killed, Austrio- Hungary attacked the Serbians. Germany did not start the war. They were allied with Serbia, they joined in after Austrio- Hungary retalliated against Serbia.

Who started world war1?

The Austro-Hungarian House of Hapsburg would say the Serbs/Bosnians started World War 1 when a Serbian man killed Archduke Francis Ferdinand Austria in June 1914. Truthfully, the problem and impetus and blame lies with the Austro-Hungarian leadership. They chose to kill Serbians in response to the assassination. WW1 did not start out as a world war but rather a war of the rulers trying to subdue the peons of Serbia under their control. This then escalated to a European war when Austria requested the Germans to help them with the war. The Germans failed to ask just what was the goal of the Austrians in war. They did not realize that the issue was to subdue the Serbians. The Germans thought the war issues were a was over the many convoluted issues that had existed between European nations for hundreds of years. See the link the below.
