His men the bulk made up of heavy cavalry warriors who carried a lance and sword and wore a leather armor. Light cavalry were archers who just wore a leather helment.By 1215, he conquered China. In 1222 he was deep into Russia,and by 1226, he ruled from Poland from Korea. he died in 1227.
