One way was by throwing them in a lake with a heavy sinking rock tied to one of their legs. It was to see if they could float. If they could float, that meant that they were innocent. If they sunk, they were evil and witches and NASTY. lol, It was the dumbest thing ever.

1. Put in water with stone tied to them if floated witch if sank not witch.

2. Burnt if survived witch if died not witch.

3. If had a black cat witch if not not witch.

4. They weren't.

5. If something had gone wrong near them they were said to be a witch.

6. If voodoo dolls were found in their house.

basically, if you were a woman, you were a witch, you were arrested, tortured, and killed. Some men were killed to but once you were accused it was game over.
