Best Answer

Cohesion and Adhesion. Adhesion is the property of water that makes it stick to other substances. For example, water on glass. Cohesion is the property of water that makes water stick to itself. For example, water droplets. Now you breath and the air has trace amounts of moisture, so when you breathe out, the moisture go from your mouth to the glass, and due to adhesion, it stays there for a while.

Moisture will form faster on a glass when?

When the air is humid and the glass is cold.

When will moisture form faster on glass?

When it is in an environment where there is a high amount of water vapor in the air, and the glass is a low enough temperature to convert the water from its gaseous form to its liquid form, causing the water to condensate on the glass.

Why do beads of water form on the outside of the glass of iced water on a hot day?

The moisture in the warm air collects on the cold glass. When enough moisture collects, it forms beads of water that run down the side of the glass.

Can you replace just one piece of glass in a double pane window?

NO, If you try you trap moisture between the two glass. when the air heats up the moisture in the trapped air willcondense and form droplets between glass

Would condensation form on the outside of a beaker full of hot water why or why not?

No. The glass of the beaker, since it is hot, not cold, would not cause the ambient moisture to coalesce on the glass

What causes condensation on windows?

Whenever there is excess humidity in a home, it manifests itself in the form of condensation on the coldest area of a wall, which is normally the window. The warmer the air, the more moisture it will retain, so when air in your home comes in contact with the colder glass surface, it is subsequently cooled and moisture is released in the form of condensation on the glass.

When you breathe on glass why does it get foggy?

Glass is usually cooler than your breath. Breath contains moisture that condenses on the glass.

Why does moisture gather outside of a glass of cold water on a warm day?

The cold glass cools the air close to the outside of the glass and causes the moisture in the air to condense on the outside of the glass when the molecules in the air come close enough together to touch one another..

Why do water droplet appear on outer surface of glass when cold water is poured in it?

The cold water reduces the temperature of the glass. The cold glass reduces the temperature of the air around the glass. The amount of moisture in air is temperature dependant hotter air can contain a higher moisture content. If the air temperature is reduced the water condenses. In this case the cold glass reduces the air temperature in contact with the glass, this results in the condenstion of moisture from the air, and water droplets are formed.
