In the long run:

  • Your rabbit will be sterile (won't be able to make babies); this is a good thing, considering all the rabbits awaiting adoption in shelters, often killed because there's no room for them anymore
  • Specifically: females will no longer have their uterus and ovaries; males will no longer have their testicles
  • Your rabbit will become a nicer pet; the sex hormones in unaltered rabbits often make them messy and destructive (from a human's point of view, anyway), also territorial, even aggressive, not to mention annoying/embarrasing
  • Your rabbit will become a candidate for bonding; unaltered rabbits either fight or mate, but bonded altered rabbits are generally less stressed, happier, and healthier
  • If she's female, your rabbit will no longer be at risk of uterine cancer (otherwise, there's a high chance she'll get it before the age of 4 years)

In the recovery (post-surgery):

  • Your rabbit will have an incision; you'll have to inspect it twice a day, and observe health (appetite, litter habits, activity levels) closely, and return to the vet if something is wrong
  • Your rabbit will be sensitive; keep the habitat calm, keep him/her away from other rabbits (especially rambunctious rabbits, and rabbits of opposite sex whether altered or not)
  • Your rabbit may be a little woozy for a short time (an hour or so), from the anaesthetic
  • Your rabbit (especially males) may be hungry right after surgery, so have hay, pellets, water ready for them
  • Your rabbit (especially females) may be reclusive right after surgery; if so, let her be, but observe her health no less closely, and encourage hay and pellets because she needs to eat, too

Is having a pet rabbit indoors unhealthy because of its urine feces and spraying can spaying or neutering a rabbit stop it from spraying is rabbit fur dangerous to humans to inhale or ingest?

Rabbits are no more harmful to human beings than cats are PLUS rabbits do not carry any diseases that can be transferred to humans. If done in time, just like with cats, neutering will prevent a male rabbit from spraying. However, just like cats, if a male rabbit has started spraying having him neutered will stop the spraying in 50% of the cases.

Your dominant rabbit is trying to mate with your other male rabbit no aggression has occurred do you have to get both rabbits neutered or just the frisky one?

It really would be best for both bunnies to be neutered. There are many health and behavioral benefits to spaying and neutering. Neutering just one of your bunnies could lead to problems with the bonding and dominance of your rabbits.

Why does your rabbit hump your knee?

Your rabbit probably humps your knee because of sexual hormones. If you neuter your rabbit, he probably won't do that anymore; however, if you have an older rabbit, his behaviours could already be ingrained. See the related link below for more details about neutering your rabbit.
