Look on the exhaust system for the turbo unit.
It is quiet obvious when you have a turbo because when you accelerate you hear a whistling sound. The turbo noise is unmistakable.
if you don't know this, you shouldn't drive an rx7...look at the engine...do you see a turbo???
easy your yurbo oil seals are gone. white smoke is the turbo smoking. take out the turbo and check the blades for worn or movement. if ok buy a turbo rebuild kit from eBay and get a specialist to do it.
you have a belt driven turbo? how old is that car turbos were belt or chain driven when first invented to keep planes in the air. i know of know car with a belt driven turbo
if its smoking continuous and its blue then i would say rings if it stops when you drive but then smokes when you pull off at junctions then its valve seals if you have a turbo and it smokes whitey grey then the turbo has gone.
i dont know either i got 350 turbo no forward but have reverce if anyone finds out let me know ....rebuild is about 800.
Short answer: No. As far as I know, the VR6 was never turbo stock from the factory. The only egines that came with turbo were the 4 cylinder 1.8T and the TDI (diesel).
