With the help of some physical and chemical processes matter changes its state. Like using heating , cooling etc we can change the state of matter,
In general matter expands its temperature and volume with heat.This heat energy causes an increase of energy internal to the matter that expands its volume: solids melt to liquids, liquids expand to gases; and gases transform to plasma. At phase temperatures the matter changes form with no change in temperature;

the changes that matter undergoes are the physical and chemical change by:R.yu
When matter undergoes a chemical change, the composition of the matter changes. When matter undergoes a physical change, composition of the matter remains the same.

Matter does not move from a solid, to a liquid, to a gas. It is more proper to say that it changes its state. At different temperatures, all matter changes its state because of the different levels of energy that are required for it to maintain certain states. At the lowest temperatures, matter is a solid. As the temperature is increased, it can change into a liquid, and ultimately a gas. There are even higher states like plasma that involves even higher temperatures, like those found in the sun.
