Disney did NOT invent Cartoons, he did perfect some usages for them. it should be noted that a number of animal cartoons, animated ( originally for Movies) antedate Mickey Mouse- Felix The Cat ( King Feature syndicate) was out in the lower twenties- and Bugs Bunny ( WB) came in with sound- in l927. the earliest Mickey Mouse cartoon ( originally called Steamboat Willie) came out in l928. so the net impact, unless one is a Disney fanatic, would not be gross. other cartoons and cartoonists were busily active- and by the way, by a sort of historical accident ( a puppet head was used as a prop on a turntable)- Felix the Cat was the first TV cartoon!- that worked- so get the tapes for the movie shorts of Felix- which was done. circa l946.
