AnswerIt is a little hard to give useful advice without knowing how liberal your parents are or whether you still live at home. For a general guideline, choose a time and place where you are both comfortable and can discuss this without undue distractions. Perhaps sound your father out first by talking about his religion and point out that you respect his beliefs but may not follow the same path. You may well find that he is very accepting of your beliefs; in fact he may know you better than you think. However, if you feel that he is unwilling to further discuss the matter, you may change the subject to something else, without ever fully disclosing your change of worldview.
