I admire their dedication, resilience, and passion for their sport. They inspire me with their skills, work ethic, and ability to overcome challenges. Their positive attitude and sportsmanship make them a role model for others.
Should athletes be role model?
I would say yes and no. When the athlete is performing and the public has spent their hard earned money to watch, the athlete should be a role model of hard work, fair play, and sportsmanship. But once an athlete leaves the arena or stadium, they become another 'John Doe' subject to the same attractions, good and bad, that any other human being is subject to. It would be nice to have them be role models all the time, it would be nice to have all humans be role models all the time, but that is never gonna happen. So, personally, I expect the athlete to be that role model of sportsmanship and fair play while the contest they are playing is going on. After the game is over, they turn back into a human being.
