The simple answer is to wire all the lights in parallel. In a bathroom vanity light, sometimes we see a number of light bulbs in the fixture. If one bulb fails, the rest stay lit. They are wired in parallel.

What lasts longer a dimmed light or a fully powered light?

The mechanism that fails in an incandescent lights is the filament. It degrades over time because of current flow. Hence, you would expect the dimmed light (less current) to last longer. This would not necessarily be true for other types of lights.

Why does the brake light not light up when you turn on the light but it light when you brake?

This is operating as intended. Brake lights are only activated when the brake pedal is pressed, irrespective of the other lights in use. It is a safety feature so vehicles behind are aware the brakes have been applied. They are separate from the tail lights so they still give a visual indication of braking whether the other lights are on or off.

Can Piaa 510 fog lights be installed into the existing positions where the factory fog lights are installed on a 2005 Ford Escape?

The PIAA 510 fog lights are not the proper size to fit in the front bumper fascia where the factory fog lights are mounted. Additionally, there is no mounting point on the Escape to hold the PIAA 510 fog light. The PIAA 510 has a universal design that allows for mounting on a vehicle with enough clearance for the size of the light. It is ideal for newer vehicles that were manufactured with bumper light sockets. For the complete line of PIAA fog lights and driving lights visit AutoLights4Less.com. They offer PIAA and many other fine brands of headlight bulb, headlight assemblies, tail light assemblies, fog lights, driving lights and turn signal lights.
