I would ask the person what would cause them to say that. Then I would calmly discuss their concerns. The main thing with this type of question is to stay positive, keep your composure, and keep your answer hypothetical. Remember, the interviewer is not saying your interview was terrible! S/he is asking how you would react if s/he told you that it was. It's a trick question designed to see how well you respond under pressure and also how well you think on your feet.
