The English long bow was shot just like any other long bow, with which most people are familiar. The problem with shooting it was not one of how would you, but how could you - how could anyone use a bow that had a pull that heavy. This is the reason the archers had to practice for years - they had to build up powerful muscles.

Did knights use the bow and arrow?

Yes they did use bow and arrows. In regarding a medieval European knight, it would be very unusual for one of them to personally use a bow and arrow in warfare, or even in hunting. This is because the bow was considered a 'cowards' or 'commoners' weapon. Generally a knight would recruit - conscript would probably be a better word - peasants and similarly lowly people to shoot at other people for him.

Dude, you can shoot like any arrow as long as its long enough. Just check the pounds of your bow and find arrows that match the poundage. If your hunting with the compound though I would suggest carbon arrows because they hold up better. My favorite to shoot are wooden arrows with legitimate feather fletchings, but there expensive
