I like the net convention that started a decade or so back that put asterisks around a word to connote action. It's a convention I'd advocate for books, too.

You would spell it 'hear' if you are referring to a sound that you listen to.
It must be possible for the bee to take in exess air when eating, and would have to get rid of it some how, so I think it must release tiny amounts of air (very rarely). but as bees don't have vocal chords it would not make any sound.

Yes. a burp is a sound made when trapped gas, usually air, escapes from the digestive system through the throat. Since it has nothing to do with the vocal cords, people who are mute can still burp.
