Depending on how old they are i would advise you to find an interest which interests them. If they like playing football play it with them in their spare time, they will then open up more to you, if they listen to alot of heavy metal music then do the same and your children will like you more and more. Doing this will also show that you support them meaning later on in life they can trust you at critical moments. Never stop trying because the moment you do your children will feel like you have given up on them.
