The Catholic churches of Australia are already unified, and there is little dissent on matters of doctrine. The main problems facing the Church today are the emergence of evidence of widespread paedophilia and, much worse, the willingness of the hierarchy to cover up these crimes. Unfortunately, the apparent tendency of bishops and archbishops to suppress information and to protect their priests and religious is evidence of "too much" unity, when morality and integrity cry out for full and open reporting of suspected crimes to the civil authorities.
Often Catholic Churches (or any churches revolving around Christianity) can go to third world countries to help out from mission trips to charities. This doesn't just benefit the designated area though helps the members of the Catholic Church build a type of feeling of unity, through helping others.

They are not honoring the Roman Catholic Church- but the Universal Church. Catholic means Universal. To be praising the Catholic Church, is praising the unity of all believers in the Triumphant Church to come.
The Catholic Church is in communion primarily with the Eastern Catholic Churches, which are fully united with the Pope and the Roman Catholic Church while maintaining their own distinct liturgical practices and traditions. Additionally, the Catholic Church seeks ecumenical dialogue with other Christian denominations, such as the Orthodox Churches, Anglican Communion, and various Protestant groups, although these churches are not in full communion with the Catholic Church. The aim of such dialogues is to promote unity among all Christians while respecting theological differences.
