Hurricane warnings usually are issued well before the hurricane hits, so there is time for evacuations and precautions to be taken. You also know when large clouds and strong winds begin that this may be a strong storm or hurricane so if it does look that way you may need to head for safety
d.
If you are anywhere near the shore, and feel an earthquake, that is a sign of a possible tsunami.
If a tsunami is detected out to sea, and your area provides warnings, there should be an alarm or warning issued.
If you are on the beach and see the water suddenly and quickly recede, a tsunami is seconds away from utter disrucktion in the place this is a fact from tsunami experts
If your diving and you feel the ground shake umderneath that could also be a tsunami.
Thunderstorms
· A thunderstorm can move rapidly, dropping a large amount of rain in a short time. Thunderstorms can also be associated with a slow-moving system that rains for longer periods. If you are out hiking and are near a river or stream, you need to be watchful for quickly changing conditions. A stormy sky can be a warning sign that floods will occur in low lying areas. The immense rainfall can cause a small stream to swell quickly, which produces a flash flood. In this type of weather, stay clear of streams, creeks and low-lying areas. Streams and Creeks Rising· Another warning sign of a flood is seen when a creek or stream begins to rise quickly. The water will also turn muddy, and you may hear a "roaring" noise from upstream. This means that a flash flood is occurring, and water is moving rapidly downstream. You should seek higher ground quickly as far away from the stream as possible. Runoff· Runoff occurs after storms and when rain falls after a snow melt. Greater amounts of water run down into creeks, rivers and streams from higher areas. The runoff can quickly swell creeks and streams to dangerous levels. It is imperative to be aware of this situation if you will be around low-lying areas or bodies of water. Consecutive Storms· If there is a series of consecutive storms for a period of hours or over several days, you have a definite signal that a flood will occur. The saturated ground and the swelling of rivers and streams creates a dangerous situation. A flood can take many hours to form, so be careful during this period if outside and near a stream.Unless there is a large scale system of underwater sensors and a good communication system, tnher is very little warning at the seaside of the approach of a tsunami, probably just a few seconds, judging by the news footage of the 2004 tsunami.
when the flood comes i suggest that you go upstairs in your house the things you will need to bring is

Hurricane warning signals will be issued in the event of a hurricane. Also, you can tune in to your local news authority for updates. You can also visit government websites for more information, such as the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
There will be a lot of coulds in the skyy.
it will also be dark. not very sunny.
the tide will go out unnusally far causing the water to go very shallow
Tsunamis are almost impossible to be detected directly before they strike. However, one can detect the earthquake that causes them and then issue a warning.
when the waves is stable, not like the waves in Swimming Pools, when it reaches to the shallows waters, it may reach to about 30metres or above. it all depends on the earthquake in the water.
he didnt you liars
Meteorologists study the atmosphere not the ground so No. However Geologists did know there was a Tsunami coming and warnings were issued.

There are no atmospheric conditions that portend a tsunami because a tsunami is just a wave, not at all tied to the atmosphere.

You can't see a tsunami coming, but you can tell by if the water level has drawn back significantly.

No. At the the time there was no tsunami warning center in the Indian Ocean. They received no warning. The first indication anyone in Indonesia got was the ocean receding before the tsunami struck, but most people did not know that this was a sign of a tsunami.
a tsunami warning center can help because it tells the people that a tsunami is coming
There are two main reasons. First, at the time, there was no tsunami warning system for the Indian Ocean, only for the Pacific. Second, most people, even most educated Western tourists, did not know the warning signs of a tsunami.
There is no weather pattern to look for. Tsunamis are not a weather-related event.
