Simple. Just press the numlock key of the laptop and it will automatically be turned off. Hope this helps. <><
There should be a button labelled numlock, push this and it will toggle number pad on and off.
Press the num lock key but if it is on f11 or something hold the fn key and press it
Don't laptops use the numlock key? Because I think that you have to press numlock, then 3 to get a number. Just remember to turn off numlock when you're done with numbers (there shoud be a little light somewhere)
The external display has nothing to do with it :). You have numlock turned on, turn it off by either pressing function (fn) + numlock or just the numlock key, it depends on try way your computers configured. Usually if your function key is the same colour as the numlock text, you need to do the first key sequence, if not, just try the other :)
Mine does. Some don't even have num pads, so they wouldn't.
One reason the Fn key may appear stuck is if you recently plugged a full-size keyboard into your laptop and pressed the NumLock key. This key activates the Fn key on the laptop. To return the Fn key to its original state, plug in the keyboard and disengage the NumLock key. Remove the keyboard and test out any of the Fn assigned keys. They should return to normal working status. If it doesn't however, you may require further troubleshooting. You can find out if its the numlock by holding the fn key to type normally. if it types normally then and oposite when released then that's the problem. you can turn it off by holding the fn key and presing either the blue "num <arrow down>" or the blue numlock key. (both are numlock just look different on some laptops.
undo numlock
Well first of all you can't deactivate it because it won't be on if you don't have a numlock button. Anyways, my Toshiba (might not be the same laptop, I'm not sure which one i have) but I've read if you go to the onscreen keyboard (start menu>programs>accessibility>Onscreen keyboard) it has a numlock button on it
press the numlock key
NumLock, short for Numeric Lock, is a key on a keyboard that toggles the numeric keypad between two modes: number entry and navigation functions. When NumLock is activated, the numeric keypad inputs numbers; when deactivated, it allows for cursor movement and other functions. If the NumLock light doesn't go off, it may indicate a hardware issue, a software glitch, or that the key was not properly toggled off due to a malfunctioning key or keyboard driver.
A: ur numlock key is active/on disable it or press function key +numlock key ----------------- i have a laptop and i somehow pressed some key and some of my keys are not working...but when i press the fn key..it works..so how do u unlock the fn ke
On older MacBooks the NumLock key was on the F6 key. On later models Apple removed the NumLock key. If you have a lot of numbers to enter the addition of a separate USB Number Pad would probably help.
