Another View: There is no standard timeframe. Much depends on the charge you are trying to expunge, and in most states the original complainant and the prosecutor's office can be notified to determine if they wish to give testimony in the matter and/or have any objection to the action.

You cannot expunge from your record any conviction that was received as an adult. In NC, 16 and older is an adult. If you were convicted of anything, it cannot be expunged. Only charges that were dismissed can be expunged. Your DUI will be on your record forever. Sorry.
