What is the general structure of the plasma membrane?

Plasama membrane is adjecent or near the secondary cell wall in a cell. It is a living outermost boundary of all the cells. ULTRA STRUCTURE: It consist of three layer that is two protein layers on either side and a double middle layer of phospholipids. The conteneous layer of proteins sandwich the central phospholipid bilayers. Recently Singer and Nicholson proposes the fluid mosaic model of plasma membrane which states that there are two types of protein found in P.M. 1 Periheral or extrinsic protein : which is loosley bound to the lipid layer and is of floating type. It can be remove easily. 2 Integral or intrinsic protein: they are embeded in central phospholipid bilayers attached with oligosaccharide and can not remove easily. Carbohydrates are also present in plasma membrarne mainly bound to glycoprotein and also to glycolipids. Carbohydrate mainly in glycoprotein play an important role in cell that is cell recognization.

WHAT IS BLOOD TRANSFUSION?

Blood transfusions are when you have blood in a bag and you receive that blood because you have lost a lot of blood and you need to make up for that blood. When you have a blood transfusion you have to have a certain type of blood because of what blood type you are.BLOOD TRANSFUSION:Matching of blood is very important during blood transfusion. persons having blood group A cannot donate his blood to a person having blood group B. because the plasama of blod group B contains antibodies A. It will attack at once on the antigens A. the recipient can die of this effect. so it is necessary that the blood groups of the donar and the recipient should match each other. It is imporatnt to note that a person having blood group O contain no antigens on its RBC. therefore it can be donated to any type of blood is cosidered to be the universal donar. On the contrary blood group AB is considered to be the universal recipient as it contains no antibodies in his blood plasma and will not react to any type of blood it receives.A blood transfusion is when a person receives blood from someone else, usually from a close relative. You'd want to receive blood from a close relative to prevent tissue rejection, when your immune system tries to destroy foreign blood that's unidentical to your blood.
