No. They are not reliable. If you are in the market for a car, why not support your country and buy American? The Ford Explorer, for example, is the most fuel efficient SUV on Earth, not to mention all the jobs you'll help save.

The above answer was apparently written by a Ford employee, and I'll not even begin to address his "most fuel efficient SUV on Earth" comment. Now an exact answer to this question is tough, as it is very general, and of course every car has it's good points and bad, and even the options on the particular car (motor, transmission, AWD, ect.) as well as the year, affect just how "good" a vehicle is. Santa Fe's have gotten good safety reviews overall, have relatively high resale values, and for example, Hyundai Santa Fe was awarded 2008 Consumer Reports "top pick" and was among the top 10 vehicles for 2008, based on road tests and predicted safety and reliability. That said, you really have to do your homework as far as researching the model you are thinking of buying (I do not own a Santa Fe, but I will likely be buying a used one this week now that I have done some homework on them, and of course I will going over the vehicle thoroughly with my mechanic). If you are planning to buy a new vehicle, Hyundai does have a nice warranty (10/100k), but if you are buying used, i highly recommend taking it to your mechanic for an inspection. --------------------------------------------- Actually, I am not an employee for Ford, GM, or Chrysler; I am simply a patriotic American who is disgusted with the amount of people buying foreign cars. I don't understand why so many people could turn against products made in America. No foreign car is worth buying over an American. None. If you want SUVs, GMC and Cadillac have the best. If you want trucks, Ford undoubtedly has the best. If you want cars, well all of the big three have great cars. I did make a mistake: the Ford Escape, not Explorer, is the most fuel efficient SUV on the planet. Nonetheless, the Explorer is great. What the hell would make you want to buy an evil Asian car? It is a concept I could never grasp. And to the hard workers making Hyurjtdaysbhws, or whatever the hell the name is, maybe if you bought American those plants would be owned by the big three and you would get much better benefits than any foreign companies give.
