I used *#7370# but it didn't work.
Go to settings>restore factory defaults OR key in *#7370# on standby and follow on-screen instructions
format it with an operative system C.D
*#7780# for soft format which does not erase your personal data and is equal to the 'Restore all' option in your factory settings.*#7370# does not work actually though many ppl believe it works.

The SONY mobile does not have a format key. Someone needs to go to the phone settings and select the factory reset option to format the SONY mobile.
Formating will totally wipe the partition while Recovery will restore your computer to a earlier state, for example Factory Settings. If one format the partition with the Recovery files one will need a bootable Windows 7 DVD or USB stick to install Windows 7 again.
Format System memory in the setting and features section. It will wipe all added data off your dsi, you can not get them back though. Previously bought items on the dsi shop i believe can be restored for free unless they are no longer available.

And if you want to format it, then go to setting, system setting and then memory stick and there you will see the format memory stick button and formatting means resting or deleting (just to those who don't know)
