First - yes. According to science, humanity originated in Africa. And black skinned, as protection against the strong sun. But one thing that happens in sunlight is that the body makes vitamin D. And black skin limits the production of vitamin D. Not a problem when sunlight is intense. But as humans moved further North, where sunlight is weaker, black skinned people got into trouble because of not having enough vitamin D. So people started to get paler, which allowed their bodies to make more vitamin D in less sunlight. So black is natural in intense sunlight, and white is natural in less sunlight.
