In my opinion, I somewhat do think so, however I also do not. I believe de Valera made a great number of contributions to freeing Ireland, but these were not on the battlefield but more strategic plans. I myself am a big Michael Collins fan and de Valera let Michael Collins take the blame for a lot which left a bad taste in my mouth for Eamon de Valera.
