Germany would be considered to be a rich country.

Yes Germany is very powerful and rich. Germany has the fourth largest economy in the world after China, the US and Japan and that with just 80 million people. Germany is the second biggest exporter after China. Germany has after America the most billionaires and is one of the countries with the most millionaires. The average wage cost to an employer in Germany is 4600$ a month. And the German government owns after America the most gold on the world. Germany a lot of the biggest companies in the world. All these car companies are under German controll. -VW -Audi (belongs to VW) -Bentley (belongs to VW) -Bugatti (belongs to VW) - Skoda (belongs to VW) - Seat (belongs to VW) - Lamborgini (belongs to VW) - and a few more belong to VW

-Benz (Daimler) - Maybach (Daimler) - Smart (Daimler)

-BMW - Mini (belongs to BMW) - Rolls Royce (built under licence from Rolls Royce plc)

- Porsche (belongs to VW)

If you ask me I would say Germany is more wealthy than the US. In Germany the average people have a higher living standard than in America.

I wouldn't go that far to say that Germany is richer than the USA. Just because of standard of living, the USA will always be the richest country in the world.

USA is not the richest, their HDI is a lot lower compare to some European countries, I would agree with you if you say USA is a country with the most public debt in the world. Look at US economy, how bad? Global recession started in USA.
