It is possible. One example of an animal that is both scavenger and a hunter is lobster. Lobsters are crustaceans, a group of invertebrates, which are the organisms that have no backbones.They have a strong exoskeleton. Lobsters devours any decayed matter, but it also hunts live fishes.
