THIS IS ONLY AN OPINION: It is difficult to say, but probably not. If it truly was your first offense and you receive probation, the child will probably remain with you. HOWEVER - such an offense DOES give ammunition to the child's father if he wishes to cause you trouble.
If that child is indeed caught shoplifting, there would only be one charge. That charge would result in a more severe punishment, however, and depending on the age of the child, would either go to Juvenile hall or if the child is too young, than the charges would be put on the parents.
My first offense as a child. I don't remember
The child was ashamed to tell her mother why she had to serve a detention at school.
by giving knowledge to people about child labour . i will tell the people that it is a crime. And yet it is not a criminal offense, just a civil offense.
You will be fined or jailed if you are caught driving when you owe child support.
It depends what does your child love more than anything in the world (material things)? When you find that out then you can take it away and use that material thing right in front of him . Then figure out what he hates the most than use that against him :)
If going to court, if you cannot afford one, one will be appointed. If a child is innocent, get a lawyer. If a child is guilty, you should get the appointed one, and plead guilty.
