Well, it looks like your computer is infeccted by some sort of virus, as well as a Trojan which probably carried the software to send fake messages about a spyware infection, probably courtesy of AntiSpyware Master. Trojans also can have the power to change original desktop or administrative settings, like being able to open Task Manager or in your case, not being able to change your desktop setting.
There are lots of free anti-spyware software out there but they probably contain adware to pay for the fact that it is free. There are lots of blogs aout, there, here are just a few with the solution you need:
