Tell her! Not that you imagine all that, but that you have feelings for her! You might not know maybe she has feelings for you too... You'll never know unless you tell her. Good luck and if she's really your best friend then she won't let anything happen to your friendship even after the break up :) So you've got nothing to lose. But just in case she says that she doesn't want a relationship than it's because she cares a lot about you and doesn't want to risk losing you.
