I changed the wiper motor on a 2003 Mitsubishi Gallant and now when I turn the wipers off they stay in the upright position. What did I do wrong and how can I fix this.?

Most wiper motors have a clip (usually plastic) generally located on the shaft you mounted the arm to that tells the motor where to stop... When removing/installing this clip fequently gets moved around, and the wipers stop in odd places.
The big problem with said plastic clip is also that the bloody things break all the time... 95 and up cavaliers and sunfires are especially bad for this and will break trying to clear even moderate amounts of snow. The default stop location when this happens usually is all the way up. So if you bought a used motor.....
