Assuming it is a desk top and not a laptop.

Check that all the wires are in place that run from the front panel to the motherboard.

You may have knocked off the mini plug for the start button. They are usually bunched together at the edge of the board, with the LED indicator lights and sounder. Look for twisted pairs of wires ending in a little black plug, Red and white, Green and white, Blue and white.

The plugs slide onto pins arranged in a group and are easy to knock off. You may need the motherboard manual, to identify which pins are what.

Why are Vacuum tubes important for computer memory?

Vacuum tubes are not important for computer memory any more because we now use transistors. A long time ago however, the Vacuum tubes were important because they had the ability to regulate current flow through them, making them a feasible means for computers.

How can you find a large vacuum leak on a 1996 Ford Explorer if you have sprayed all the vacuum lines and could not find it?

Maybe you don't have a problem with a vacuum leak. I thought I had one too because of the bad idle but it turned out that the air intake sensor needed to be cleaned with a q tip and very gently wipe it to ensure nothing is on it and that fixed my idle. ALso some of the smaller lines sometimes get carbon build up,which can be checked and cleaned with a q tip. Also the most obvious thing to check is the air intake hose to check for cracks and the air filter if it's clogged or old.

Where does the hose from the distributor go to on a 1985 Chrysler fifth ave?

This must be a vacuum hose, with a connection to the intake manifold, at rear of carb. This must be an after-market distributor because the original "Lean Burn" computer did not have a vacuum advance distrib. The vacuum was connected to the computer that controlled the distrib. advance. these setups, one made by Mopar, kit #P3690426, by passed the computer and is vacuum operated.

How many vacuum tubes did the first generation computer have?

Oh yes - and for several generations after that. ENIAC, the first mainframe computer, had to be kept in a room with very heavy air conditioning (about 60 degrees) because of the heat generated by all the vacuum tubes.

How many vacuum tubes in first generation computer?

ENIAC was the first digital general purpose computer, built in 1946, and with 17,468 vacuum tubes. The Illiac I, the first computer built and owned by a US educational institution, had 2800 vacuum tubes. The IBM 604 had about 2000 vacuum tubes.

When the large computer invented?

The same time as the early computers. They were large because their components (vacuum tubes) were large, not because they could handle large problems.
