I contributed money to a charity in memory of my bosses mother who passed away in addition to sending flowers to the memorial service. He gave me a gift certificate. I feel funny. How to thank?

This IS odd. I would buy something for the workplace, like a piece of Art , or a candy dish , possibly a magazine subsciption to be placed in a waiting area, then write the Thank You and tell the boss how you shared his generous token of appreciation.
