There are a couple of ways you can file in Michigan. This link will take you to the online application: http://www.michigan.gov/uia/0,1607,7-118--77962--,00.html On that page, you will find the requirements for online filing with alternative options if you don't have all the info for the online application. If you file online, you must be connected to a printer so that you can get copies of your case number, etc.

You can file an unemployment insurance claim via the California State government website. Information centers will be able to provide other resources such as whether you are eligible for unemployment insurance. They also have a toll free number that you can call for help
You file for unemployment in the "liable state". In this case, you work in Iowa, the "liable state", but because of the interstate unemployment compensation laws, you can file in a state other than the "liable" one and they will work with the other state to help you.
i dont know can you help me..
You can always file for it. I can't attest as to whether or not you'll be eligible for it, but you have the right to file. Even if you don't receive unemployment compensation, it could possibly help you find a job to tide you over in the meantime.
Because Massachusetts is the "liable state", which pays the benefits, you have to either file with them or you can file in Kentucky, who will act as your "agent state" and will help you process your claim.

I wouldn't file ahead of time. I would think positive, and help to keep it from not closing. (Thoughts are power)
