You can use Midol, which you can buy over the counter at grocery stores or pharmacies. You can use a heating pad and/or moist warm cloths on the painful areas. If these things don't help you may need to call a doctor.

∙ 14y agoTry and take over the counter pain medications a day or two before your period is scheduled to start. If that doesn't help, talk to your doctor. Birth controls usually seize menstrual periods but an exam is usually recommended before started. That's what happened with me and I found the cause of the painful cramps: Ovarian cyst the size of a quarter in all dimensions. The Depo shot is also given to fix this and cancel out periods.

∙ 14y agoSee a gynecologist to figure out what's wrong. If it is something that can be fixed, they'll fix it. And if there's nothing wrong, they'll give you pain killers. If you need Birth Control pills you can take those too, as even the religions that forbid birth control allow birth control pills when used therapeutically (assuming it is religious constrains that forbid the pills) because God doesn't want you to suffer.

It means you have cramps. I use to get them VERY bad and here is how you help yourself. My guess is that you also have PMS. Before your period when you begin to ache and hurt start to cut back on sugar ( you may crave it, but it doesn't help you) and junk foods. I would buy Mitol an over the counter pill that helps with cramps and PMS. When the cramps start drink hot tea and put a heating pad on your tummy ( you can get one of the back ache pads they sell now and wear it under your clothing ). Lie down if you can on your side. With these things your cramps will be less. I got on the pill because of the cramps and the PMS and it solved all of my problems. Go see your doctor he can also help you.
