It honestly depends on what pregnancy test you took. If it was the kind that has lines that show up (one for negative, two for positive), sometimes they have a faint line due to evaporation that people may interpret as a positive. If you had a blood test, it measures the hormone, hCG, human Chorionic Gonadotropin. Since that test came back negative, I would shy away from saying that you had a miscarriage. In many cases, a woman becomes pregnant and miscarriages early, going undetected as a normal menstrual cycle. The hCG levels would have been elevated in either case. In your case, I would say that you may have interpreted the results wrong or even had a bad test kit. It is not common, but there are defective urine pregnancy tests. It would be even more likely though if the two tests were packaged together, which would lead me to believe that they came from the same batch in production.

When you started bleeding.... was this the normal time for your period to start? Was it light spotting and is that what made you think about taking the pregnancy test? Without knowing these answers, it's kinda hard to say. However, if you took a home pregnancy test and the results were positive, there is an extremely great chance of being pregnant. Usually with those tests, they say that a negative result is what is more likely to be wrong than a positive one. However, it could also be that you were pregnant and still have high enough levels in your urine to make the pregnancy test positive. Your best bet is to see a doctor to be sure... one way or another, that's the best way to know for sure. Good luck!

I would go to the doctor for a blood test to be sure, but I don't see why it couldn't be possible. Sometimes there are errors with home pregnancy tests, and sometimes they are incorrect. There is also the possibility that you have started to loose the baby and that is why it came back as negative in the second test, although I would hope that is not the case. Good luck!
