Could a fuse cause overheating?

No, if a fuse were to overheat it would blow. A shorted circuit can cause a fuse to blow. Yes. If the fuse for the electric cooling fan should blow, then the fan will not turn on and remove heat from the radiator at low speeds. At higher speeds, there will be enough air movement to cool the radiator. Also if your experiencing problems with your car overheating you should look into other causes, such as making sure your anti freeze reservoir is full

What would cause high coolant level in the recovery reservoir?

The radiator cap controls the amount of fluid to your reserve. So if it were stuck open as the engine heats it would spill into the reserve. Also any problem that would make your engine overheat could keep the cap opened longer then desired. Overheating engines with other than cooling problems could stem from blown head gaskets or piston rings.

You have a 99 Ford Escort with overheating problems on it on and off you know that the fan works because you tested it what could be the reason for it to over heat?

Sounds like you could have a low water/anti freeze level, bad thermostat, or clogged radiator or clogged engine passages. Usually if the thermostat is causing the overheating it is stuck in the closed position and the car will overheat within a few minutes after starting it.

Why does your 97 Pontiac Transport keep overheating?

The 3.4L engine has a common problem which makes the van overheat. The one of two major problems are both cooling related and that is why they fail to do that job and the engine begins to overheat. One likely problem is that the Intake Manifold Gasket is torn. This is the lesser of the two problems. The second likely problem is that the Head Gasket is torn. This is the bigger problem. Many times, it is easier for the mechanic to just swap your engine with a different one from the scrapyard.

If 1999 jeep keeps overheating replaced thermostat radiator and water pump are not leaking what else could be wrong?

It is probably your fan. Check and make sure your fan is kicking on. Jeeps tend to have problems with their fans not working. If it does not overheat when you are moving but it does when you are sitting still then it is probably the fan.
