That "soreness" is, no doubt, from the injection(s) you received to numb you up prior to the extraction. Unless you're still bleeding, I recommend warm compresses- a (padded) hot water bottle or heating pad held over the area. Also warm-water gargling.
If it's still really sore greater than a week, and especially if you're seeing a discharge or foul tasting/smelling substance in the area, or you see what looks like blistering around the gum area, get back to that dentist quick

No. That would just be a waste of time and money. In many cases, you wouldn't even get a root canal on a permanent tooth. You would most likely have it pulled depending on what tooth it is. Just have the baby-tooth pulled since it is going to be pulled someday, regardless.
