If the nail bed was not injured it will. If the nail bed was killed by the infection then it will not. If it was removed by a doctor he may have cauterized (burned) the nail med in which case it will not.
to make sure there is no infection
This depends on the type of infection if it is a general infection from say a cut on your finger then white blood cells will go to the infected zone to fight the infection. If they die while fighting this infection then puss will form. some infections can kill you others are mild.
put peroxide in a cup and soak your finger in it and get a bandade with antibiotic ointment on it. and go to the doctor and get an antibiotic too... they want to cut ur finger though at the doctor... like cut the infected part off so watch out. hope this helps!

It could be infected. See a doctor.
well when your belly button is very deep and you dont clean it often things can build up and get infected, what would help is fingering your belly button with a q-tip or your finger and cleaning it, if there is an infection you should see your doctor.
Your 21 month old son became infected with herpetic whitlow because someone with a herpetic infection, such as cold sores, held their own infection against his skin, or because he inoculated his finger with the virus by putting his fingers in his mouth. It spread from skin to skin.
There is a risk of HIV infection anytime certain fluids of the body (blood and semen) are exchanged. This means the infected blood would have to come in contact with an open sore perhaps in your mouth. The virus has a limited lifespan outside of the body, but there is a risk here.
