I have a 1994 Lexus LS400 and I believe that the ignition coil is going or gone bad. What would a car do or how would it drive if the ignition coil was bad?

This car has 2 coils 1 for r/ and one for l/ banks .to determine which one is failing .simply disconnect both and plug in 1 at a time.when the engine starts the opposing coil is bad .just had this happen to me .if you drive with this condition there is potential to damage the cat convertors.

It's attached to the transaxle. Actually, the LS400 is rear wheel drive and doesn't have a transaxle. The sensor is located on the drivers side of the transmission. It is very hard to find. Recommend a repair manual or go to your local auto parts store and ask to see the diagram in their parts catalog of that item. Usually, it will show you where it is located.
