That's not good. I would take it back there and tell them and they will have to fix it. What im imaging is that the fluid they put in is the wrong kind and the clutch packs are binding up. Or they could have wreaked the valve cover gasket while doing the flush. Next time take it to a dealer they know much more than Canadian tire, they will be more expensive but its better than replacing a transmission, which will run you a few grand.
thanks for the advice ... i took it to a Chrysler deal who ran a transmission relearn program and now the tran is working fine, and oh yeah , the total cost was $ 80.00 cdn ... which should've been cover under the 160 thousand power train warranties but that a different issue ...knowledge is power
Have the fluid changed/flushed to the proper type as soon as possible.
Yes it should be!
It will be a PINK color when it should be a pretty RED color. You will have to have the transmission flushed out at a transmission shop and the fluid and filter changed too. Then you need to find out HOW the water got in it in the first place.
Yes - probably a long time ago
No, Fluid, filter, and gasket
Newer Impalas are to have there transmission flushed and not fluid drained and filter changed. The filter is now a screen and is cleaned by flush. See your dealer or TRUSTED shop for service.
Driving that vehicle will lead to serious transmission problems in time. Have the transmission fluid flushed and filter changed soon. Next time stop by your local auto parts store and ask for assistance.
it is internal and u must break the case to change it, best have the fluid changed by a pro, flushed out by the dealer is best
Change your transmission filter and have the trans flushed.
the location of the transmission filter is inside the transmission and in order to replace the filter you need to drop the transmission and open it. the filter is not in the transmission pan like most older cars and can not be changed by some one that dosent know a little about how to rebuilt a transmission.it might be better to get the transmission flushed.
yes it will. Just have the fluid changed NOT flushed. I have a friend that owns a tranny shop and he says flushing isn't good for transmissions
The transaxle fluid should be changed every ofter according to the Honda recommended specifications. Honda recommended every 75,000 miles the transmission should be flushed.
