Ignition switch may be defective.
Check engine light usually indicates a problem in the emission control system - have vehicle scanned to determine the problem
If car is coughing and stalls out until you drive whats the problem.
This light is warning you that there may be a problem with your battery. Have it checked.
air is blowing bat problem is no air com to front only in class
Just had this problem. I replaced the oxygen sensor and it appears to be running fine.
It could be a loose connection, it could be a problem with the speakers, or it could be a problem with the head unit.
I had the same problem with a 98 contour, It was the fuel pressure regulator.
We found the the valve cover had a bad gasket. We had to replace ours and that solved that problem.
engine swapShort answer, no. Based on information from ADP Hollander. Edit:There should be no problem, provided that they were the same type, ie, two V6's or two I4's. I have the engine from a '96 Contour or Mystique in my 2000 Cougar with no problems, you wont even have to deal with the issue of return-vs-returnless fuel systems.
I have a 2.0 1995 Mercury mystique the battery charge light was on no output on old alternator. Replaced alternator No output from new alternator "charge light out" (wiggle test wires& re-check wires) at alternator *still no output* is there a fuse that could be the problem or just another bad alternator... I would check the alternator plug before getting another alternator, it may be bad. And is a lot cheaper to replace.
If the gas tank is vapor locking when it is hot outside, on a Mercury Mystique, it is probably because too much air is getting into the tank when the vehicle is driven. Replace the gas cap and this problem should go away.
If the noise is caused by a Mechanical problem, disconnecting the battery and reconnecting it will do NOTHING to fix the problem.
