Don't drop out of school just to go back later to get your GED. Why not finish and graduate with your class? If you have someone that can help you with your child, stay in school. There are all kinds of programs that assist teenage girls who have babies. If you are receiving any benefits, ask your worker for help in staying in school. You're probably bored with school dragging on while you have a child at home. But, a GED is not considered as good as a diploma. How do you know that you will even be able to go back to get your GED? Parentingbrings so many demands and your baby will be older and need more attention when try to go back. You don't know what you'll have to do tomorrow. Also, your choices for a job are very limited if you drop out. Stay in school; you'll appreciate the value of a diploma when you're trying to get into college.

Can you drop out of high school at the age of 15?

It depends on where you are. Different locations have different laws. However, in order to legally drop out at 15, it's likely that no matter where you are you will have to have a better reason than "I want to" ... financial hardship, for example. In some places you can take a basic proficiency exam and get a certificate which is legally equivalent to a high school diploma (sort of like a GED); usually there's a minimum age for this (in California, for example, you have to be 16).
