Have hair not a lot but some around the base of your penis are you starting puberty?

Puberty is a wonderful time of physical changes. Hair begins to grow in the underarms and over the pubic bone, girls experience the beginning of breasts, and males experience beginning changes in the penis and scrotum. Young males should not be alarmed if hair growth is sparse at first; it will soon grow and begin to cover the pubic bone, base of the penis, where the scrotum attaches to the body, and even around the anus.

∙ 14y agoThis is referred to as "Villus" hair, it is fine, straight and without coloration. It is the first hair that appears beneath the armpits and groin as puberty gets underway. You have most likely already noticed you are developing body odor when you sweat, which another sign you are maturing. It can be frustrating, especially if you are looking every day, to wait for meaningful signs that puberty has started, but take heart, it will happen soon enough. The next stage to look for is a darkening of the skin of the scrotum. Your testicles will probably grow larger first, before you even see any real change in the size of your penis. Your pubic and underarm hair will gradually get darker and start to become coarser and more easily seen. None of these changes happen overnight, so do yourself a favor and don't obsess over them.
