The .INK file type is associated with 'Tablet PC' by Microsoft Corporation. There is nothing for Mac OS X that can use these files.
The .tmp extension is a TEMPORARY file.Often these files are created during the installation process or during cleanup procedures.Sometimes by changing the extension you can open them in some program or other. If they are old they can safely be removed.
any extension can be used because the DVD disk is not the file. there are likely going to be hundreds if not thousands of files on a DVD. Some could be video files, (.mov, .wmv, .mpg, or others) some could be picture files (.bmp, .jpg, .gif, and many others) some could be executable files .exe, or zip files .zip
The file formats and extensions jpeg, jpg and gif are used to save pictures. The format and extension bmp refers to files made with Paint and are larger files generally. The format and file extension ttf are archival-quality photos; some people use home scanners but make archival files.
.txt is the usual extension used with text files. There is also .rtf (rich text format) and .html (hypertext markup language) which are stored in plain text format, although they are not specifically text files.
Why? Windows Media Player can only play .wav files.
The hard drive keeps the operating system. When the computer is on, some of the files get loaded on to the RAM for faster access
Majority of programs and software you install have the information inside the installing process which automatically creates the File Extension file to open with. Some files have information inside them with options for the File Extension and you Operating System will find a best fit option for the File.
Program file extensions simply identify the type of program. For example, an executable program will have a file extension of .exe, and some music files will have the file extension of .mp3
If you have administrative permissions you may be able to change the Attributes of the file to be unreadable by others without administrative passwords or your private password on the machine. You could mask the files by changing the extension so they do not appear as mp3 files (but then your player would probably not recognize them either unless you could associate the new extension to the player and hope it recognizes the mp3 from the file header and not just the extension).
There's not much difference to the normal user. However, to those more concerned with how it works, there are some differences. A COM file is self-contained and cannot exceed 64KB in size because the stack, data, and code must all fit within 64KB. EXE files have no limiting size and have more header information. The main difference is how they are loaded. When a COM file is loaded by DOS, it is loaded into low memory. EXE files separated where the CONST is loaded low and DATA is loaded high. Also, if you have both, say EXAMPLE.COM and EXAMPLE.EXE, in the same directory and try to execute without specifing the extention, the COM will load first.
first the booting files are loaded in the RAM and these files are in the boot sector where operating system is installed . after loading these file then these files load the operating system in the RAM , some portion of RAM is Allocated by the OS. after that window is ready to perform tasks.
