All bushing i believe are self-lubricated, they are at least on my 03 impala. Mine is squeeky right now, i was told it is the sway bar bushings that need to be replaced.
Strut mounts okay? Control arm bushings? Sway bar bushings? Sway bar links? Penetrating oil is a mans best friend. Spray one part at a time drive around a few days if the noise goes away then you found your problem.
yes
94-96 impala's dont have a stock airbag suspencion!!
The Impala has two bushings. One vertical which is the outer bushings, and the second one which is the horizontal (inner) bushing. Best thing to do is buy the bushings at rock auto. Vertical is like $18 and Horizontal is about $16. These bushings need to be pressed into the control arm so u have to take it to a machine shop...its probably charge 1 hour labor rate for both sides. U need a special tool to press out the old ones and insert the new ones. Removing the control arm is necessary.
There are none. Most newer vehicles are "permanently lubricated" at the factory.
put a air suspension all the way around on the car.
According to Automobile online In August 2010, a recall for faulty seat belts and anchorage was announced for the 2000 Impala. Another reason the Chevy 2000 Impala was recalled was problems relating to the suspension.
The linkage bushings are worn/missing/broken or the wiper arms are not timed properly to the wiper transmissions.
The rubber bushing for the suspension spring has fallen off from age. The suspension spring now "slaps" itself, metal to metal, causing the noise.
18" - 20" BUT WATCH TIRE SIZE!!
It is very unusual that the control arm bushings would be bad this soon. Has a repair shop looked at them? It is not an easy job especially if you are doing them at home. Go to a parts house or a bookstore and get a Haynes Manual and it will give you full details with pictures.
they make you buy the entire linkage assembly. No one makes a bushing kit for it. You can break out the existing remaining plastic bushing and replace with a rubber grommet from ACE Hardware used for electrical wires and it works perfect. The grommet will be about the size of a nickel Lube with lithium grease and you will be set email me at et12second@aol.com if you need any more information
